Pain and Your Feelings

Pain and Feelings

Voice 2: It can stop you living the way you want
Voice 1: It can stop you going to school, enjoying sports, hobbies… or spending time with friends.

Voice 1: Pain doesn’t just affect how you feel in your body… it can affect your mind too, in lots of different ways.

Voice 1: And what’s hard is… people can’t always see this from the outside.
Voice 2 (gentle reassurance): But you are not alone in feeling this way. It’s completely human.

Voice 2: It can make you feel lots of different emotions… like feeling angry, sad, lonely, panicked… or just overwhelmed.

Voice 2: But if talking feels hard…

Voice 1: So… what can you do?
Voice 2: If you can, try not to keep it to yourself.
Voice 1: Talk to someone you trust.

Voice 1: If you can, think about things you enjoy.
Voice 2: Reading… music… videogames…
Voice 1: Chatting, laughing… spending time with friends.

Voice 2 (continues): …or you don’t know how to say it… you could try writing it down instead.

Voice 2: Breathing exercises can sometimes help too.
Voice 1: Focusing on something simple… like your breathing… or counting…
Voice 2: …can help calm your thoughts.

Voice 2: Maybe some gentle movement could help…
Voice 1: Like going for a walk… or just getting out of the house for a bit.

"Pain and Feelings can be overwhelming at times, you need to remember that there are easy way to sooth, manage, and treat pain."
