Description: Here is a video explaining some of the things you can think about after you have been to see your doctor

Transcript

So you’ve been to tell the doctor about your pain, and they’ve told you they’re going to “wait and see” or something like that? We’ve spoken to lots of people who have told us they feel “fobbed off” by this. Some worried their pain was not being taken seriously by the doctor.

The truth is that sometimes it’s helpful to know what pain does over time. It can give doctors an idea of how your pain will change and what it means.

You can help even more by keeping a diary of what your pain does! Does it get worse or better at different times of the day? Does sport make it worse? Does it hurt at night? Is it better or worse than yesterday? Whatever you can think of will help when you go back to the doctor, or other healthcare professionals like nurses and physiotherapists.
